01《孫子兵法》計篇第一

計篇孫子曰：兵者，國之大事，死生之地，存亡之道，不可不察也。

故經之以五，校之以計，而索其情：一曰道，二曰天，三曰地，四曰將，五曰法。道者，令民于上同意者也，可與之死，可與之生，民不詭也。天者，陰陽、寒暑、時制也。地者，高下、遠近、險易、廣狹、死生也。將者，智、信、仁、勇、嚴也。法者，曲制、官道、主用也。凡此五者，將莫不聞，知之者勝，不知之者不勝。故校之以計，而索其情。曰：主孰有道？將孰有能？天地孰得？法令孰行？兵眾孰強？士卒孰練？賞罰孰明？吾以此知勝負矣。

將聽吾計，用之必勝，留之﹔將不聽吾計，用之必敗，去之。

計利以聽，乃為之勢，以佐其外。勢者，因利而制權也。

兵者，詭道也。故能而示之不能，用而示之不用，近而示之遠，遠而示之近。利而誘之，亂而取之，實而備之，強而避之，怒而撓之，卑而驕之，佚而勞之，親而離之，攻其不備，出其不意。此兵家之勝，不可先傳也。夫未戰而廟算勝者，得算多也﹔未戰而廟算不勝者，得算少也。多算勝，少算不勝，而況無算乎！吾以此觀之，勝負見矣。

How you can apply in Learning?
Once You compare and study every aspect of the Topics, Methods and Steps of Doing.
You will discover your strategies either consciously or unconsciouly all depend on your level of self-awareness, to be used in the Test or Examination. Once you have taken your test or Examination(all these are your Valuable feedback) learn all the mistakes that you have created. The mistakes are your teacher. They tell you how is your strategies. Once told, Fine tune your strategies. Each fine tuning make you better. You are a step to success, of course Failure is a step away. Get it.

"Therefore, we should compare and study every aspect of the enemy's position.

With these comparisons, we can know the winner of the battle.
If you use my tactics, follow my plan, you will definitely win.
I will then stay and give you support.
If you ignore my plan, you will be defeated, it's better for me to leave now."

How you can apply in your Maths?
You must be able to compare and study every aspect of the Topics, Methods and Steps of Doing.

Topic
Most importantly is to observe how the questions of certain topic are being asked.
How many ways can they ask?
If they asked differently, do you need to practise all - so-called different questions?
Are there patterns in how the questions are asked?

Steps of Doing
If questions are asked differently, are the steps of doing still the same or different?
If the steps of doing are different, you must know how are they different?

Example:

Step of Doing for Question 1: Transformation, Combine, Link then Answer.
Step of Doing for Question 2: Combine, Transformation, Link then answer
Step of Doing for Question 3: Transformation, Link then Answer.
Step of Doing for Question 4: "Break into Pieces" then answer.

I will say the Question 1 and 2 are actually the same except the arranging. I will learn them as 1. For the Question 3, I will just take note of the "Combine". I will still classified Question 3 as 1 thing to learn.

I will learn Question 4 as 2nd thing to learn.
See by being observing and look into the Steps of doing, not simply the question itself. You have less thing to learn. Lesser effort, greater result.

Instead of 4 things to learn, U reduced to 2 things. Wow!

Methods
The most important things to learn is to learn how to interpret questions in the ways that you can see it better. The method of interpreting question is called as "Question is the Answer" is a profound and powerful method. Our students are taught in that. You don't go about practising tons of questions to get the methods of doing Maths. Learn The CORE things. Practise indeed makes Perfection but not ignorance ways of practising. Using your wisdom to practise the RIGHT things. Practise doesn't means take up your pencils and do questions from 1st page till least page of the books. Practise means hands on, thinking, observing and etc.

With these comparisons, we can know whether we are a winner in Maths Test or Exam.

Chapter 1B: Initial Assessment

We need to assess and compare 5 aspects: They are:
1) Moral Influence
2) Weather
3) Terrain
4) Commander
5) Doctrine
All generals must know these 5 aspects. Those who know them well will definitely win. Those who don't, will have no chance of winning.

How to you apply in Maths and other subjects?
Moral Influence
You need to influence your peers and lead them to achieve good result. Never fear of failure. Turn failure to a Valuable lesson to Success. Be the Master of Your mind and can influence by the good only. Keep Your Moral High in every tests or exams because one thing leads to another. Get it???
Weather
Weather change can affect our body and therefore affect our performance. When the weather turn cold, you need to keep yourself warm so that you will not get flu. When the weather turn hot, you need to drink more water so to cool down. Never let the weather affect your health. Stay healthy in order to have a healthy mind. With heathly mind, good result can be achievable!
Terrain
A good environment to study can increase your absorption and focus. A smooth and nice music can make your mind relax. A relax mind can think better(the string of the guitar must be tune neither too tight nor too loose, a balance is a must to produce music not noise!)
Commander
Principle, teacher and most important - Parents must posses the attributes of Wisdom, trust and compassion, bravery and solemnity. They can create a very high impact to students! If you don't have that kind of people around you, you don't have to worry. Be your own Principle, teacher and parents and learn to be Wise, Trustworthy, Compassion. It is difficult but still possible. Once overcome, you are Great!
Doctrine
You need to have good peers so that whatever subject(s) or topic(s)you are weak in, ask them! Organise your friends and have self-discipline. It is fine to mix with playful friend, learn from them how play help to relax. Mix with Bookworm so that they motivate you to achieve good result. A balance between Playful and Bookworm friend is a skill you must achieve. Know when to play and when to study is a must to learn.

All students must know these 5 aspects. Those who know them well will definitely win. Those who don't, will have no chance of winning.

War, to the state,
a) is a matter of life and death to its people,
b) survival or ruin to its country.

Therefore, Assessment is a must.

How to apply in Maths?

Examination, to student,
a) is a matter of life and death to his/her Academic Performance of the Year, If you failed your Mid-year, you need to put in lots of effort for the next semester. If you failed your End-year, you are 'dead fish', you need to retain. Lots of troubles pouring in.
b) survival or ruin to its Academic future.
If you do pretty well in your Exam, you are promoted and look up by people around you.
If you do badly in your Exam, you will retain and look down by people around you.
If you further demoralise yourself, you are going to ruin yourself today and tommorrow.

Therefore, Assessment is a must.
